Description:

  1. Habit and Habitat: ong evergreen tree, grown in full sun or shade.Susceptible to frost climate.Terrestrial habitat.
  2. Distribution: Native to Asia, Malaysia, Australia and parts of Pacific region.
  3. Morphology:
    Leaf: Alternate, pinnate, evergreen, ovate leaves.They drop from branches hence the name weeping fig.
    Infloroscence: Hypanthodium, receptacles, solitary, sessile.
    Flower:
    Male Flower: Shortly pedicellate, abundant stamens.
    Female Flower: sessile in nature.
    Fruit: Synconus and is specialized structure.
    Flowering and Fruiting Time: February – April.

    Grown as ornamental plant. Used as medicinal plant. Used to extract rubber.
